The YMCA Youth Centre in Żabbar is a free, open-access youth space run by YMCA Malta for young people aged 8 and over. Operating as part of YMCA Malta's Youth Empowerment Programme, the centre provides young people with a safe, supportive environment where they can voice their opinions, develop skills, explore their interests, and engage with their community. YMCA Malta's approach to youth work is non-formal and youth-led, activities and projects are driven by the interests and ideas of the young people themselves, supported by experienced YMCA youth workers. The centre welcomes young people from all backgrounds and operates as an inclusive, non-judgmental space.
YMCA Malta has been operating in Malta since 1976, delivering social welfare, youth empowerment, and community programmes across the island. The Żabbar centre is one of YMCA Malta's community outreach locations, alongside its Head Office in Valletta, which hosts the main Youth Empowerment Programme.
Free and open to all young people aged 8 and over residing in or near Żabbar. No referral or prior registration is required. Young people of all backgrounds and abilities are welcome. The centre operates as part of YMCA Malta's community outreach programme and is open to young people regardless of nationality.
