The Children's Speech Therapy Service, offered by Primary Health Care, provides assessment, advice and therapy for children experiencing speech, language, communication or swallowing difficulties. Speech and language therapists work closely with children and their families to support communication, learning and everyday development.
The service helps children with speech delay, language development, pronunciation, social communication and feeding or swallowing difficulties through personalised assessment and evidence-based therapy programmes delivered by qualified Speech-Language Pathologists.
The service is available for children experiencing speech, language, communication or swallowing difficulties. Children may be referred by a healthcare professional, educator or other specialist, or parents may self-refer where applicable through the Primary Health Care Speech-Language Service.
Services are available through Primary Health Care. Appointments are booked following referral or self-referral to the Primary HealthCare Speech-Language Centre. More information can be found by calling 21231231.
