The Children's Scoliosis Review Clinic provides follow-up care for children and adolescents identified with mild scoliosis. The service supports early monitoring and management of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis through regular reviews by healthcare professionals.
Children may be referred to the clinic following scoliosis screening carried out through the School Health Service or after assessment by a doctor. The clinic helps monitor spinal development and ensures that appropriate interventions are provided when needed.
Children attending the Scoliosis Review Clinic receive regular medical reviews to monitor changes related to mild scoliosis.
The service includes follow-up assessments, advice on managing scoliosis and monitoring of spinal development throughout childhood and adolescence. If required, children may be referred for further specialist assessment.
The service is available for children and adolescents who have been identified as showing signs of mild scoliosis.
Children may be referred following scoliosis screening conducted by the School Health Service, or through a referral from a doctor at a Health Centre or private practice.
Referrals to this clinic are made by doctors and nurses from the School Health Service following scoliosis screening in schools, as well as by doctors from Health Centres or private practice who on examination detect changes consistent with mild Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis.
