Inspire: LinC Day School Programme

Overview

Overview: A service designed for learners from Year 1 to Year 7 who are diagnosed with autism and/or behaviours of concern who were previously attending mainstream school. 


What you'll get

Therapeutic interventions in addition to an adepted school curriculum. The different forms of intervention target functional skills including socialisation, communication, behaviour management, motor skills, sensory skills, cognitive skills, numeracy, literacy and Independent Living Skills Training (ILST)


Eligibility

Year 1 to 7

Children aged 5 to 12


How to apply

Referrals through NSWS 

Timeline

  • Step 1: Child attends FT mainstream school

  • Step 2: INCO fills in a form so that the child will start attending a specialised setting. The guardians are informed about this

  • Step 3: The Board of the specialised setting meets the INCO to discuss a way forward for the child

  • Step 4: If child is accepted from the Board, s/he will attend either LinC or SOP

  • Step 5: NSWS forward the child's contact details to Inspire (Manager of Programme and Head of Services)

  • Step 6: Inspire admin contacts the guardians

  • Step 7: ICM (Initial Client Meeting) with guardians is set and carried out

  • Step 8: If a child begins attending LinC, s/he will attend every day. If a child begins attending SOP, s/he will attend twice a week with the respective LSE.
