Klabb 3-16 is an after-school care service for children between the ages of 3 and 16 years, attending State, Church or Independent schools. It is currently being operated in 39 localities and one may choose the centre that is most convenient. The service is offered from state primary schools and from Monday to Friday during the scholastic year. The operational hours during the scholastic days are between the schools’ dismissal time, till 18.00. The hours used can be tailored to one’s needs, while respecting the official dismissal schedule issued by the centre. The service also operates on a whole day basis between 07:00 hrs and 17:30 hours during school holidays, according to demand.
Children who attend Klabb 3-16 benefit from a planned programme of activities. The schedule gives children the opportunity to do their homework under the guidance of warranted teachers, and to take part in educational non-formal activities with Playworkers. These include activities such as arts and crafts, drama and storytelling, physical education and games, cookery sessions, science experiments, activities related to technology, educational talks and workshops that are linked to monthly themes.
Children with a statement of support may also be provided with the assistance of a Child Support Worker, subject to the submission of the Statementing Report and the latest IEP at the application stage. The allocation of Child Support Workers will be at the discretion of FES.
During school days, the service is available for all children between the ages of 3 and 16 years, attending State, Church, or Independent schools.
During school holidays, the service is available for children of working parents who can provide proof of employment, or to parents who are following a course of studies with a registered educational institution.
