About Us
The Information Management Unit (IMU) within the Ministry for Education and Sport(MES) is the Ministry’s central authority for
Information Technology and Digital Services, mirroring similar structures
across other ministries.
In line with the Ministry’s vision to simplify
information and empower users through technology, the IMU has been entrusted
with the development and delivery of the MyChild portal—a unified
digital gateway providing access to Government of Malta (GoM) services for
children aged 0 to 18.
The goal is to ensure that services essential to a
child’s development—whether in education, health, sports, culture, or social
welfare—are easily accessible through a single platform. The portal is designed
not only to make services more discoverable and efficient but also to reduce
administrative burden for parents and guardians.
In the long term, MyChild aims to
become the primary point of contact for all child-related government services,
offering a seamless and personalised experience.
In addition to offering digital access via the web
portal, the IMU provides support through email at [email protected].
Through the MyChild portal, parents and
guardians can:
• Request information about government services
• Submit applications and service requests
• Share feedback and suggest improvements to existing or new services
Our Vision
Raising a child should be one of the most rewarding and joyful journeys in life. Yet, for many parents and legal guardians, the reality often includes navigating a complex network of services—each one vital to a child’s development, but not always easy to access or coordinate.
From education and healthcare to sports, culture, and transport, the responsibilities can quickly become overwhelming. At the Ministry, we recognise these challenges. That is why we are proud to introduce MyChild—a new, centralised portal created to simplify access to the services that matter most to families.
Our Mission
MyChild is more than a digital platform. It is a commitment to parents and guardians. It is designed to provide seamless access to all services related to children aged 0 to 18, across sectors, through a single, user-friendly gateway. The portal offers timely information, reminders of key milestones, and personalised updates—whether it’s school transport applications, vaccination schedules, or cultural programme enrolments.
Our mission is clear: to empower parents and support children by ensuring that no opportunity, deadline, or service is missed. By providing clarity, reducing bureaucracy, and bringing services closer to the people who need them, MyChild enables families to focus on what truly matters—their children.
Implementation of the MyChild portal will be phased. We will begin with education services—where the need for integrated access is most immediate—and gradually expand to include all other key sectors. This staged approach allows us to refine and tailor the platform to the real needs of our users, ensuring quality and impact every step of the way.
